The Morning Show, Apple TV+

It’s season 3 of the newsroom drama starring Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carell.

At the eponymous newsroom where they work, Alex Levy (Aniston) and Bradley Jackson (Witherspoon) have been navigating the aftermath of sexual misconduct allegations against Alex’s former co-anchor Mitch (Carell).

Among the changes coming for the show’s latest run, there’s the addition of Mad Men star Jon Hamm, Nicole Beharie, Tig Notaro.

Best news of all though is the return of for Good Wife and ER star Julianna Margulies in her role as Laura Peterson, an anchor at UBA News and Bradley Jackson's love interest.

John Hamm will take on the role of Paul Marks, a corporate type who sets his sights on the UBA network.

The Repair Shop, 8.00pm, BBC One

Former West Ham United goalkeeper Peter Grotier brings in a fragile and faded programme from a 1970 exhibition match he played.

It was against Santos of Brazil, and Peter is hoping that it can be restored without losing the autograph of his hero, Pele.

Other items Jay Blades (above) and co encounter include a teddy bear with hardly any fur and a wonky leg and an electric guitar that's cracked at the neck.

The Newsreader, 10.20pm, RTÉ2

The first season of this Australian newsroom drama was an excellent watch and insight into the sexist culture prominent there in the 1980s.

The cast is really good too, with former Fringe (and most recently The Last of Us) star Anna Torv and Sam Reid.

As season 2 begins, Dale, Helen and the rest of the News at Six team prepare for perhaps the most critical night since Dale ascended to the desk - election night 1987.

The British-Italian historical drama resumes, with season two chronicling the struggle for control of the Roman Empire, and of Rome's Imperial Family, from a rare female perspective.

In its first season, Livia Drusilla, the golden girl of the prominent Claudii family, returned to Rome after 10 years in exile, determined to regain everything that was stolen from her.

Now, leading a fractious empire and a dysfunctional dynasty, she must fight to preserve her marriage to Gaius and find a way to seat one of her sons on the throne.

In the opening episode, Livia and Gaius return to Rome after three years away to find misrule and famine has taken over the city.

In their absence, the family has become unruly and is threatening Gaius’ authority to rule.

But Livia’s plans to solve their problems weaken her own marriage, as Gaius starts the race for his succession.

Voyage to Mars: The Longest Goodbye, 8.30pm, BBC Four

Nasa intends to send astronauts to Mars.

To succeed, crew members will have to overcome unprecedented, life-threatening challenges, and while many of these hazards are physical, the most elusive are psychological.

This documentary follows Nasa psychologist Dr Al Holland as he prepares Mars-bound astronauts for the psychological demands of a three-year absence from Earth.

Silent Witness, 10.10pm, BBC Four

A classic tale from season 2 of forensic drama Silent Witness.

A boxing match ends in what appears to be an accidental tragedy, but forensic pathologist Sam Ryan's suspicions are aroused by unexplained injuries to the victim's brain.

Unfortunately, she finds herself struggling to convince ex-lover DS Peter Ross that the boxing authorities are suppressing the facts.

Starring Amanda Burton (above), Mick Ford, William Armstrong and Ruth McCabe.

Preceded at 10.00pm, by Amanda Burton Remembers Silent Witness.

The actress looks back at the early years of the drama, which is still thriving since its debut in 1996 and in which she starred as Dr Sam Ryan for the first eight years.

New to Stream

The Other Black Girl, Disney+

Based on a novel of the same name, this is both both a mystery thriller and a satire on the insidiousness of racism in so-called 'liberal’ environments.

Sinclair Daniel plays Nella, an editorial assistant, is tired of being the only black girl at her company, so she’s excited when Hazel (Ashleigh Murray) is hired.

But as Hazel’s star begins to rise, Nella makes a shockingly sinister discovery and quickly spirals out of control.

Welcome to Wrexham, Disney+

Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds navigate running the third-oldest professional football club in the world.

As much a promo piece as documentary, it tracks the dreams and worries of Wrexham, a working-class town in North Wales, as two Hollywood stars guide the future of the historic Club.

This second run of the show picks up the story after the heartbreaking end to the 2022 season. With wages spiraling costs at the club, promotion becomes essential.

Wrestlers, Netflix

At a storied professional wrestling organization, new owners and a roster of rising stars strive to make an impact beyond the ring in this docuseries.

The Ohio Valley Wrestling gym is threatened with closure due to financial struggles.

In comes wrestling legend Al Snow, who sets about trying to save the venture.

Ending Today

Henpocalypse! 10.00pm, BBC Two

It’s the finale of this zombie-fueled comedy, starring Lucie Shorthouse, Elizabeth Berrington, Callie Cooke, Lauren O'Rourke and Kate O'Flynn.

On the eve of her wedding day, Zara finds herself in emotional turmoil over her fiance Gary.

With the future of the gang at risk, she's forced to pick a side and finds herself at odds with her mum Bernadette.

Will Zara's faith in Gary be rewarded? Veena finally reveals the War Hog, but has doubts about what the women might find beyond the safety of their cottage.
