The Today Show presenter Maura Derrane will present the 9am-10am slot on RTÉ Radio One for the next two weeks, starting Monday 11 September.
Presenter Oliver Callan, who has presented the majority of shows since Ryan Tubridy's sudden departure from the slot in late June, first broke the news at the end of Friday's programme.
The comic said, "I'm going to be unavailable for the next couple of weeks, so Maura Derrane will be the presenter. She will be here for a fortnight."
He continued, "We know her well, of course - oodles of experience doing live telly - but I believe this is her first foray into live radio.
"She'll be grand - it's Maura, without the Daithí!" alluding to Derrane's longtime TV co-presenter.
"It's going to be Maura Derrane unleashed, perhaps, so give her a big welcome when she comes here on Monday."
The presenter then revealed that both he and Brendan Courtney will be back in the hotseat after that, saying, "Then Brendan Courtney and myself will return, separately, to continue the hour as the days curl into October."
Brendan Courtney has also presented the show on several occasions since Tubridy's departure.
Derrane took to Instagram on Friday to confirm the news, saying, "Hey guys. I have news for you.
"I am sitting here in RTÉ Radio One. I will be presenting The Nine O'Clock Show on RTÉ Radio One for the next two weeks.
"This is my mic; these are my headphones.
"I have never presented radio before so I am very, very nervous but I am extremely excited. So listen in!"

Derrane is best known as one of the longstanding presenters of RTÉ's afternoon TV programme, The Today Show, which began in 2012, with Daithí Ó Sé as co-host.
In its ten seasons, Today has broadcast over 1,500 episodes from RTÉ's Cork studios, and has featured around 10,000 guests from all walks of Irish life, including the worlds of entertainment, music, comedy, fashion and sport along with human interest stories.
