Pick of the Day

Live Rugby World Cup, 2.00pm, Virgin Media One

Day two sees Ireland begin their World Cup campaign against Romania (KO 2.30pm) as Pool B gets under way with this match at Stade de Bordeaux in France.

Ireland have been consistent in past World Cups, reaching the quarter-finals in eight of their nine appearances in the tournament, but never progressing beyond that stage.

But they will have high hopes of faring even better this time around after winning a Six Nations Grand Slam earlier in the year.

They will expect a comfortable victory against a team that has yet to progress beyond the pool stage and was expelled from the 2019 tournament for fielding an ineligible player in qualifying.
