Irish Midlands electronic producer Owls has released his new single, Swallow My Love, and plays the Pawn Shop in Dublin on 16 September. We asked him the BIG questions . . .

The video of the track was shot between Longford and Roscommon and features scenes of "brutalism, gothic architecture, and a trip to the shop for some milk".

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

I'm from Co. Longford. 99% of my wardrobe is black. I'm the only goth in the village.

How would you describe your music?

Dark tunes you can dance to. A look towards the brutality of love. Songs for the shadows.

Who are your musical inspirations?

Right now, Boy Harsher, Buzz Kull, Gilla Band, Lebanon Hanover, Mandy Indiana, Molchat Doma, NIN, The Murder Capital. to name a few.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

Pixies in Lansdowne Rd.

What was the first record you ever bought?

Sum 41 - Does This Look Infected?

What's your favourite song right now?

Lebanon Hanover - The Last Thing.

Favourite lyric of all time?

"You're the measure of my dreams" - Rainy Night in Soho by The Pogues.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

New Order - Blue Monday.
