Liam Neeson brings the action mayhem back home in new trailer

The first trailer for the Liam Neeson-starring, Co Donegal-filmed In the Land of Saints and Sinners has been released as the thriller receives its premiere at the Venice Film Festival.

The film sees Neeson joined by Kerry Condon (The Banshees of Inisherin), Jack Gleeson (Game of Thrones), Sarah Greene (Rosie), Ciarán Hinds (Belfast), and Colm Meaney (The Snapper).

A release date for In the Land of Saints and Sinners has yet to be announced

The cast also includes Desmond Eastwood (Normal People), Conor MacNeill (Industry), Séamus O'Hara (An Irish Goodbye), Mark O'Regan (Blood), and Valentine Olukoga (Unforgotten).

In the Land of Saints and Sinners is "set in a remote Irish village, where a newly retired assassin finds himself drawn into a lethal game of cat and mouse with a trio of vengeful terrorists".

The film reunites Neeson with The Marksman director Robert Lorenz.

Netflix has acquired the Irish and UK rights to In the Land of Saints and Sinners.
