Speaking about the song, Brandan says, "Take It is a documentation of every insufferable, pretentious or arrogant character you've ever met or caught yourself being.
"It's a journey of self-discovery coming to terms with the less stunning and brave parts of the human psyche and facing down the barrel of your own uniqueness, originality, ability or lack thereof and the perpetual feeling of being outside a seemingly impenetrable in-group."
Tell us three things about yourself . . .
We're from Wexford. We aren't from Dublin. And that's alright.
How would you describe your music?
That's a bit like being asked can you fight or what you're like in bed, the answer is very good of course. If Nashville country, doowop classics and episodes of Wife Swap were filtered through a machine that was both terminally online and far too fond of drink and fuzz pedals I reckon that might be what we sound like. I don't know, just come see us.
Who are your musical inspirations?
I'm a huge fan of the like of Joe Dolan, Sinatra, Andy Summers and Engelbert Humperdinck, we don't sound like that but they were just absolute entertainers when you look at what they do onstage and the command over an audience, if you mix that with the kind of creativity mavericks like Mark E. Smith, Charlie Megira, James Brown, Shane MacGowan or Gibby Haynes do... You'd probably end up with the Jimmy Castor bunch, who we still don't sound like but would like to.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
The first gig I ever went to was an industrial metal/dance act called Noiseface that was held in the function room above a local pub, I reckon it caused a lot of damage.
What was the first record you ever bought?
It was the Bee Gees greatest hits on vinyl, the first CD was a Bon Jovi's greatest hits live, I think.
What’s your favourite song right now?
Mambo No 5.
Favourite lyric of all time?
"This is Mambo number 5".
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Mambo No 5.
Where can people find your music/more information?
Spotify, Instagram, the inside of a dove’s wing, the mouth of any true Wexford man, your own heart if you look within with only sincerity and integrity.
