Hidden Assets is back this Sunday - here's the story so far

The second season of the international thriller Hidden Assets begins on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player this Sunday, 3 September, at 9:30pm, but if you missed series one, you can catch up on the story so far in the video above.

In series one, a routine raid led by Emer Berry (Angeline Ball), a detective in the Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB), revealed a small-time drug dealer had been receiving substantial funding from a seemingly untraceable source - not in cash, but in diamonds.

Taking place a year after the events in season one, season two is set between Limerick and Antwerp and sees Claire Wallace (Nora-Jane  Noone - Wildfire, The Magdalene Sisters) new to the fold as the lead detective in charge at the Criminal Assets Bureau.

Faced with a coordinated cyber-attack targeting CAB and the Belgian Counter-Terrorist Unit (CTU), Claire joins forces with Belgian police commissioner Christian De Jong (Wouter Hendrickx, reprising his season one role) in a race against time.

Also returning for season two are Simone Kirby (His Dark Materials, Jimmy's Hall) as Bibi Melnick, Cathy Belton (Red Rock, Philomena) as Norah Dillon, and Aaron Monaghan (The Banshees of Inisherin, Redemption of a Rogue) as Sean Prendergast.
