Belfast-based artist and producer Amerik (Adam Booth) has teamed up with sasha samara and released new single, The Real Thing. We asked Adam of the band the BIG questions . . .

Tell us three things about yourself . . .
I once supported Westlife in a band I played in when they switched on the Christmas lights in Omagh. Obsessed with pop-punk music. I make 60-second songs on my OP-1 synthesiser and post them on TikTok.
How would you describe your music?
A mix bag of dreamy indie pop with a salute to ambient chill out
Who are your musical inspirations?
Jon Hopkins, Sigur Rós, Tom Waits, Justin Vernon.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
Foo Fighters, Point Theatre (Now 3Arena) on their All My Life tour with Cave In supporting. I’ll never forget how loud the drums were. Felt like the kick drum was breaking through my chest.
What was the first record you ever bought?
The Offspring - Americana.
What’s your favourite song right now?
Admit It by Hannah Jadagu. Her debut album is incredible. A mix of indie, shoegaze and dreamy pop.
Favourite lyric of all time?
Listener - Wooden Heart: "We’re all born to broken people on their most honest day of living."
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Caspian - The Dove. It’s just so peaceful and has been a soundtrack throughout my life.
