Made In Chelsea is to become first UK reality show to feature a relationship and three-way kiss between a male throuple, the Daily Mail reports.
The show's stars, Joel Mignott (27) and Robbie Mullett (23) enter into a relationship with show newcomer Geronimo Mörtl (22) in the upcoming series of the Channel 4 reality show, which showcases the lives and personal drama of affluent young Londoners.
The new series sees the cast take to Corsica in France, where they live together for six weeks in luxury villas.
In a reality TV first, the show will explore the dynamic of a three-way relationship, with Mignott saying Channel 4 have done their utmost to ensure the personal storyline is portrayed in the best possible light, even consulting an LGBTQ+ specialist to ensure sensitivities around plot were dealt with.
Speaking about the throuple storyline, Mignott says, "It is groundbreaking. I don't recall ever seeing anything like this as a young gay kid growing up.
"To be a part of something that could educate people and be a point of reference for young gay boys... I am so proud to be a part of that."
He continued, "There's a narrative that is pushed in society that is all about monogamy, but monogamy doesn't work for everybody and that's why marriages break up. There's a lot of shame around anything other than that... we hope to change that perception."
Made in Chelsea returns to E4 on Sunday 13 August at 9pm and airs in the same timeslot for five consecutive evenings.
