Celebrity MasterChef, 8.00pm, BBC One

A new roster of (relatively) well-known faces enter the competitive kitchen for the latest run of Celebrity MasterChef.

Reality star Dani Dyer, actor James Buckley, comedian Marcus Brigstocke, former Gogglebox star Mica Ven and TV and radio presenter Richie Anderson compete in the first heat.

The first challenge sees the contestants each given a different ingredient to showcase in a single dish.

Then they have to make a main course and a dessert for a dinner party, knowing that John Torode (above) and Gregg Wallace will be sending one of them home.

Rob and Rom Vs Crufts, 9.00pm, Sky Max

During the last year, Rob and Romesh have - like so many other folk - become dog owners.

And with both pets in need of training, they are entering this year’s Crufts to see if their new best friends can learn a thing or two.

With seven-time Crufts champion, and BGT star, Ashleigh Butler acting as their guide, this episode sees them training their respective pets and learning the key principles of dog training ahead of Crufts.

Gone Girl, 9.35pm, RTÉ One

David Fincher's excellent crime thriller based on Gillian Flynn's novel, starring Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike and Neil Patrick Harris.

A woman disappears without trace on her fifth wedding anniversary. Her husband contacts the police, but struggles to cope as his marriage is scrutinised by the media.

As his behaviour grows stranger and more evasive, he finds himself accused of her murder.

Britain's Most Expensive Houses, 9.00pm, Channel 4

Director of the country office, Amy has a listing for a £7.25million house in Oxshott, Surrey.

Just an hour outside of London and close to the Chelsea Football Club's training ground, she is looking for a wealthy football fan to buy the property that boasts a large garden with an outdoor jacuzzi, sauna and entertainment area.

Managing director Guy visits an 18th-century chateau in the Loire Valley with its own 18-hole golf course that is available to rent for £30,000 a night. That’s around a million quid a month!

In London, Diana meets a millionaire whose private jet business is booming and is looking for a pied-a-terre to buy or rent.

Developer Kam, who is restoring the former stately home Doughty House in Richmond Hill expects that, once completed, the super-mansion with 12 bedrooms, a ballroom, a pool, a spa and a bowling alley will hit the market for £100million.

Season 3 of the beige Canadian action procedural starring Archie Panjabi, probably best known for the part of Kalinda Sharma on The Good Wife.

Here she plays Kendra Malley, who leads a team of investigators who seek answers to transport disasters.

In the season opener, it’s a beautiful day in Boston when almost 500 passengers board the ferry destined for Newfoundland, Canada.

A few hours into the journey an "explosion" onboard throws passengers into a panic. Leaving them rushing for lifeboats as the ferry takes on water with alarming speed.

What unfolds for the majority of the passengers is an unimaginable nightmare. The explosion results in serious loss of life as the ship sinks in record time.

The investigation team begin to unravel the many tangled threads of the investigation all in search of one answer: why did the Queen of the Narrows suddenly sink to the bottom of the sea?

Kate Garraway's Life Stories, 10.00pm, Virgin Media One

Kate Garraway is joined by entertainer, author and Strictly Come Dancing star Anton Du Beke.

From his struggles growing up on a council estate in Kent to winning a National Television Award for best TV judge, Kate delves into Du Beke's remarkable rise from a provincial dance school to one of the biggest shows on British television.

But behind the showbiz sparkle, viewers will hear how Anton went through many years of struggle, some of which he speaks about for the very first time.

Martin Amis, Money and Memories with William Boyd, 10.00pm, BBC Four

Novelist William Boyd looks back on his long friendship with fellow writer Martin Amis (below), who died in May this year at the age of 73.

He focuses on what many consider to be Amis's most successful work, 1984's Money, which introduced readers to the hedonistic would-be film-maker John Self, and was adapted by the BBC in 2010.

Followed at 10.15pm by the two-part adaptation of Money.

British commercial-maker John Self travels to America to direct a feature film, with backing from financial high-flyer Fielding Goodney.

As he hurls himself into a life of near-total excess, the project becomes plagued by conflicts among the cast - and John becomes the target of a menacing stalker.

New to Stream

Physical, Apple TV+

The wonderful Rose Byrne – no relation, unfortunately – returns for a third and final season of this aerobic dramedy set in the 1980s.

Her character Sheila finds her status challenged by rising celebrity exercise goddess Kelly Kilmartin (Sloane Avery), who becomes not only a professional threat, but manages to get in her head.

Will Sheila prevail, or will Kelly’s presence in her life undermine the hard-earned healing and stability that Sheila has worked so hard for?

Mark Cavendish: Never Enough, Netflix

This documentary charts the meteoric rise, tragic downfall and unbelievable comeback of British professional cyclist Mark Cavendish (below).

Guardians Of The Galaxy: Vol 3, 2 August, Disney +

Marvel's very own band of misfits return - but they're looking a bit different these days.

Still reeling from a terrible loss, Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) must rally the gang and embark on a dicey, action-packed mission to defend the universe and save Rocket.

Meanwhile, a new and unpredictable force threatens to bring the Guardians down for good.
