As the nation comes to terms with the untimely passing of legendary musician Sinéad O'Connor, RTÉ and other broadcasters will pay tribute to the singer-songwriter over the course of the weekend.

Here are some TV, radio, streaming and archival suggestions for you to enjoy, which celebrate the life and achievements of the extraordinary, one-of-a-kind musician.

TELEVISION

Sinéad O’Connor - Live at Vicar Street
RTÉ One and RTÉ Player, Saturday 29 July, 11.15pm
For this hour-long special, recorded live in Vicar Street in 2002, Sinéad was joined by her remarkable band for this inspirational and uplifting performance.

The programme includes performances of iconic tracks including Molly Malone, My Lagan Love, Nothing Compares 2 U and Fire On Babylon.

Nothing Compares focused on O'Connor meteoric climb to global prominence

Nothing Compares is an award-winning and critically-acclaimed documentary, directed by Belfast-born Kathryn Ferguson, and released only last year and this will be its television premiere.

It follows Sinéad O'Connor's "meteoric climb to global prominence" and how her outspoken nature led to her "exile from the pop mainstream", focusing particularly on the years 1987 to 1993.

The documentary "reflects on the legacy of a fearless artist through a contemporary feminist lens, and features era-defining music videos, concert performances and previously unseen footage."

STREAMING

RTÉ Player has released a host of programmes which featured Sinéad at important points in her 40-year career, giving insight into her psyche, beliefs, struggles and personal relationships.

Here, Sinéad talks about the impact that her religious upbringing had on her life and the evolution of her spiritual beliefs. Watch here.

Tributes will be paid to O'Connor across all of RTÉ Radio's stations and shows, including The Brendan O'Connor Show on RTÉ Radio 1 (Saturday and Sunday, 11am - 1pm).
