Wicked Little Letters, the new comedy starring Jessie Buckley and Olivia Colman and also featuring Irish newcomer Alisha Weir, is to receive its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
The film, which is directed by Thea Sharrock (The One and Only Ivan, Me Before You) and is based on a true story, will have its world premiere in Toronto on Saturday 9 September.
The stars walking the red carpet could depend on a resolution to the current actors' strike.

The synopsis for Wicked Little Letters reads: "Fiery Rose Gooding (Jessie Buckley) has little in common with the pious Edith Swan (Olivia Colman) aside from them being neighbours in the seaside town of Littlehampton in the 1920s.
"But one day, Edith and others in the town start receiving scandalous letters written with foul language as eccentric as it is obscene, and the finger of suspicion immediately falls on Rose.
"As Rose stands to lose her freedom and the custody of her daughter, and outrageous letters continue to blight the town, police officer Gladys Moss (Anjana Vasan) begins to suspect something is amiss.

"Together with a group of resourceful women, Gladys endeavours to solve the mystery, liberate Rose, and catch the real culprit..."
Wicked Little Letters will be released in Ireland on Friday 23 February 2024.
Buckley's most recent film, the Oscar-winning Women Talking, screened at the Toronto International Film Festival last year.
She and Colman previously starred in 2021's The Lost Daughter, with both receiving Oscar nominations for their performances.
