Season 2 of this sci-fi spook-fest about a nightmarish town that traps all those who enter opens with a double episode.

In season two, hidden truths about the nature and terrifying origins of the town begin to emerge, even as life for its residents is plunged into chaos by the arrival of mysterious newcomers.

In Sheriff Boyd's absence, Donna and Kenny struggle to manage the chaos as a busload of unwitting newcomers arrives in town.

Meanwhile, Victor and Tabitha go on a chilling journey through the nightmarish labyrinth of tunnels beneath the town.

Then, it's a tense night in the diner as the residents and newcomers wait for sunrise.

Fear then permeates the wreckage beneath the Matthews house, as Jim and Tom struggle to keep a panicked bus passenger quiet.

Your Home Made Perfect, 8.00pm, BBC Two

Angela Scanlon (below) meets Caitriona and Kevin, who thought they had hit the property jackpot after moving from a tiny flat to a three-bedroom house in Rickmansworth, Herefordshire.

But as they have discovered, there is no comfortable family space downstairs, the kitchen is cramped and their growing twins squabble over who has to sleep in the tiny box room every night.

Enter architects Damion Burrows and Lynsey Elliott, who come up with alternative VR solutions to the couple's property problems - only one of which they can make a reality.

John Le Mesurier: It's All Been Rather Lovely, 9.00pm, BBC Four

This is a fascinating portrait of the prolific actor's life and career, from his turbulent marriage to Hattie Jacques to his renowned role as Sgt Wilson in the TV sitcom Dad's Army ( below, with Le Mesurier second from right) and parts in more than 100 films.

Featuring contributions by the likes of Michael Palin, Clive Dunn, Ian Lavender, Jimmy Perry and Joan Le Mesurier. Narrated by Julian Rhind-Tutt.

This time around the team join the search for a woman who has left a suicide note and vanished into the night.

Also tonight: officers are shocked when they arrive at a house to discover a gang cruelly breeding 'dangerous' dogs in horrific conditions.

The Cleaner, 9.00pm, RTÉ2

Greg Davies’ crime scene cleanser is called to a theatre, where a male strip show has got out of hand, resulting in a 40-woman brawl.

But a blood-splattered auditorium is the least of his problems when a self-important clown, a whimsical theatre manager, a feckless assistant and a broken fire alarm all combine to create a nightmare day at work.

Electric Cars: What They Really Mean For You, 8.00pm, BBC One

Michelle Ackerley presents the first of two programmes exploring aspects of modern life that need to change to protect the environment, which focuses on the switch to electric cars.

The programme also explores the obstacles in electric vehicles becoming the standard, from cost to the difficulty of charging.

Meanwhile BBC Climate Editor Justin Rowlatt sees if the UK is on track to hit the government's targets to stop emitting greenhouse gases by 2050.

Gaia: A Death on Dancing Ledge, 9.00pm, BBC Three

Zara McDermott investigates a mysterious death from 2017, in which a 19-year-old from Dorset ran away from home in a state of distress.

Her body would later be found in the undergrowth by a massive search operation, having died of hypothermia.

The first episode examines the early clues that were discovered and the suspicion that fell on a childhood friend and his grandmother, before they were released without charge.

Mark Normand: Soup to Nuts, Netflix

Mark Normand’s first one-hour Netflix special, filmed at Chicago’s famed The Vic Theatre, covers Mark’s bold take on most things comedians are not supposed to cover.

As it’s appropriately titled, Mark makes insightful observations on everything from, well, soup to nuts.

AS the fourth and final episode of this true-life crime drama opens, Ben Field stands trial for Peter Farquhar's murder and conspiring to murder Ann Moore-Martin.

After a long day in court, tensions rise between Ann-Marie and Simon as the press swarm, while Ben remains unflappable in the face of cross-examination.

As the final day dawns, the hunt is on for the final piece of the puzzle that can prove murder was committed.

Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads? 8.30pm, BBC Four

Here’s the final episode of the opening run of this classic 1970s’ comedy, starring Rodney Bewes and James Bolam.

As Bob's wedding day dawns, a frustrated Terry continues to wreak havoc on people who happen to be unfortunate enough to live near him.
