Country star Miranda Lambert has rounded on a group of fans at one of her concerts who took selfies as she performed, telling them, "I don't like it at all - we're here to hear some country music!"
The 39-year-old singer, who has had hits with I'll Be Lovin’ You and If I Was a Cowboy, was playing a gig at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino’s Bakkt Theater at her Las Vegas residency on Sunday when she began her 2016 song Tin Man.
However, as she finished the first verse, she said, "I’m gonna stop right here for a sec."
"These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song, it’s p***ing me off a little bit.
To supportive cheers from the rest of the audience, she continued, "I don’t like it. I don't like it at all! We’re here to hear some country music tonight! I’m singin’ some country damn music!"
After asking, "Shall we start again?", she restarted the song.
However, some audience members weren’t quite as keen on Lambert’s stance. In footage from the show, a woman can be heard saying: "Come on, let’s go. You don’t do that to fans."
Other fans also took issue, with one commenting, "Yeah I would’ve left. They paid to be there. If you don’t want pictures then don’t allow phones. That’s ridiculous!"
Lambert’s outburst follows a series of more serious incidents that have seen performers injured by projectiles, including mobile phones, thrown by fans.
Bebe Rhexa was performing in New York in June when a phone thrown from the audience hit her in the face leaving her with stitches on her forehead and a black eye.
A week later, singer Max was slapped in the face by a stage-invading fan.
Harry Styles was also hit by a flying projectile and Pink was left dumbfounded at a concert in Hyde Park in London recently when a fan threw their mother's ashes on stage.
