Aslan are set to mark the passing of their front man Christy Dignam with the release of their final studio recording with the singer - a cover version of Irish classic The Fields of Athenry.
Dignam died aged 63 on June 13 after a decade-long battle with amyloidosis, a rare disease that occurs when a protein called amyloid builds up in organs.

The track was produced by Aslan guitarist and vocalist Joe Jewell and producer Stuart Gray and will be released on streaming services on 20 July, Hot Press has reported.
Aslan recorded the famous Irish ballad following a suggestion from Paul O'Reilly of Dolphin Records.
The band’s guitarist Billy McGuinness said that the band never thought that the recording would be their last as a foursome.
"Little did we know when we were in the studio, recording an Aslan version of the Fields of Athenry, that it would be our final time recording with Christy," he said.
"As usual he recorded an amazing vocal to the track and like so many cover songs that the band have recorded over the years, Christy put his own unique stamp on it."
Drummer Alan Downey said, "As we all know Christy loved the ballads and he has sung some brilliant versions of them throughout our years together.
"This song is iconic to many people across the whole world, and we really hope you enjoy our take on this classic song. For it to be our last recording with Christy makes it even more special.
He added, "Here is Christy doing another brilliant vocal on one of his favourite songs. We wanted to share it with you all. We hope you all enjoy it and thanks for the amazing support."
The Fields of Athenry was written in 1979 by the late Pete St. John and has become a firm favourite at both football and GAA matches and has previously been recorded by Paddy Reilly, Daniel O'Donnell, The Dubliners and Johnny Logan.
