Pick of the Day

Celebrity Save Our Sperm, 10.00pm, Channel 4

So, it’s finally come to this. After years of celebrity Z-listers and reality TV featuring all kinds of untalented types, we’ve finally arrived at celebrity sperm.

The premise of this show is that, over the last 40 years, male sperm count has dropped in the Western World by a shocking 59 per cent.

On the upside, studies have shown it's possible to transform men's sperm count in just two to three months through a few lifestyle changes.

So here, across eight weeks, Made in Chelsea’s Ollie Locke (above), BBC Radio 1 DJ Melvin Odoom and comedian Russell Kane take part in a series of experiments to hopefully increase their sperm count over10 weeks.

As they undergo this transformative experience, they share their very personal reasons for taking part.

Don’t Miss

Who Do You Think You Are? 9.00pm, BBC One

Here’s another family tree with roots in the Emerald Isle.

British radio presenter Dev Griffin is better known in Ireland for being a serial contestant on shows such as Strictly (below), Celebrity Masterchef, Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins and a celebrity edition of The Chase.

Born to an Irish mother and a Jamaican father, he grew up feeling he didn't fit in with either community so hopes discovering more about his ancestors will help strengthen his sense of identity and belonging.

In Ireland, Dev uncovers the momentous events surrounding the lives of his Irish grandmother's dad, his great grandfather.

Following his father's line, Dev travels to Jamaica, where an emotional meeting with a newly discovered aunt leads him to an incredible document from the local Baptist church that reveals the daily lives of his great grandparents.

This is a pretty harrowing but also compelling drama based on Annie Ernaux's novel, starring Anamaria Vartolomei, Kacey Mottet Klein and Luana Bajrami.

It's about a woman called Anne who reflects on her experiences of 1960s France, when abortion was still illegal.

When she discovers that she’s pregnant she struggles to find a solution to her predicament.

It's in French with English subtitles.
