An action-packed thriller with strong Irish links is set to have its European premiere at the 35th Galway Film Fleadh on Friday.
Jericho Ridge is set in a remote mountain town in North Washington state, which has been ravaged by unemployment and drug addiction.
It follows small-town Deputy Sheriff Tabitha 'Tabby' Temple (Nikki Amuka Bird) who is called back from injury leave to cover the dispatch radio for the night. The station soon comes under attack, and Temple and her son Monty face a desperate fight for survival.
Actor Zack Morris, who starred for five years as Keegan Butcher-Baker in Eastenders, plays Monty, in what is his first foray into film.

Irish talent is at the heart of this project, with one of the film’s producers, Mark O’Sullivan, hailing from Buncrana, Donegal.
Director of Photography Ruairí O’Brien is from Dublin and is well known for his work on television dramas including Vigil, The Fall, and Line of Duty.
This is British screenwriter’s Will Gilbey first feature film as writer and director. The BAFTA-winning editor promises that this movie contains "no respite – just 80 mins of breathless, adrenaline-pumping cinema."
He also says that it is "a highly emotional story about parenthood, trust, isolation and our inability to communicate with the people we love the most."

Jericho Ridge will be shown as part of the Galway Film Fleadh at 10.30pm on Friday 14 July at the PÁLÁS Cinema, followed by a Q&A session with Morris and other cast and crew members.
