Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have announced the birth of their fourth child, a boy called Wren Alexander Stephens, who was born via a surrogate on 19 June.

Later in the post, she referenced losing her son Jack during pregnancy in 2020, when he was aged 20 weeks, saying: "After losing Jack, I didn't think I'd be able to carry any more babies on my own.

"To be honest, I've personally blocked out a lot of my mindset during that time, but one clear memory is being surrounded by people who wanted to make sure I wouldn't go through that pain and loss again."

She went on to explain that the couple then explored having a two babies via two separate surrogates, but ultimately decided to try IVF. Their children, Luna (7) and Miles (4), were both born as a result of IVF.

The IVF process was successful for the couple and Teigen became pregnant with their daughter, Esti, who was born in January of this year.

As the couple hoped to have a further child, they continued to pursue surrogacy while Teigen was pregnant. Teigen wrote: "Around this time, we also met the most incredible, loving, compassionate surrogate we could ever imagine, Alexandra.

"I knew she was a perfect match for us the moment we spoke to her. All our wishes and dreams aligned. I wanted to be her friend, I wanted our children to play, I wanted dinner together, I wanted to lay my head on her belly and be able to feel the hiccups and kicks. I wanted them to be in our lives for as long as time would allow."

The surrogate, Alexandra, went on to become pregnant with Teigen and Legend's child, a son called Wren Alexander, with the couple publicly announcing his arrival on Wednesday.

Teigen finished her post by thanking Alexandra for "this incredible gift you have given us... we are so happy to tell the world he is here, with a name forever connected to you, Wren Alexander Stephens. Our hearts, and our home, are officially full. And to our Jack, we know both their angel kisses are from you."

Meanwhile, Legend, whose real name is John Roger Stephens, posted a series of family photos on his own Instagram page, alongside the caption, "Wren Alexander Stephens, our new love."
