Run with Ray is back!

RTÉ Radio 1's Ray D’Arcy Show hits the road very soon, with 5k runs planned in Donegal, Sligo, Westmeath, Wicklow, and Dublin.

Over five days from Monday 26 June, Ray's radio show will broadcast from 3pm to 4.30pm in the following locations:

- Buncrana in Donegal (Mon 26 June)
- Doorly Park in Sligo (Tues 27 June)
- Mullingar in Co Westmeath (Wed 28 June)
- Avondale House and Forest Park in Rathdrum, Co Wicklow (Thurs 29 June)
- Corkagh Park in Clondalkin, Co Dublin (Fri 30 June)

D'Arcy is a longtime running enthusiast

Ray will then join the starting line with runners in each community who have signed up to Run with Ray for 5km.

Runners, joggers, and walkers from across the country are welcome to take part for what promises to be an afternoon of craic, conversation, and community.

Ray D'Arcy told RTE.ie that, "We're really looking forward to our Run with Rays! Every location has a different atmosphere. In Buncrana, we will be overlooking Lough Swilly, then we're down by the Garavogue river in Sligo. Then over to Mullingar, we'll be at the lovely Old Rail Trail, then Avondale in Wicklow through the forest. And finally, Corkagh Park in Dublin.

"I've broken in my new runners and so we're all ready to go!"

D'Arcy said he is really looking forward to seeing everyone and also gave his top tip for running in hot weather, "I try to run early in the morning before it gets too hot. If I have to run around midday, sometimes I build up the courage to wear a running vest - yes, I know, a running vest!"

Registration for each run is €5 and comes with a Run with Ray t-shirt.

To sign up, visit RunwithRay.ie. The initiative is sponsored by Irish Life.
