Pick of the Day

Not Going Out, 9.00pm, BBC One

Lee Mack’s old school, multi-award-winning hit show returns for a 13th season. Despite many changes, it just goes on and on. Must have something to do with it being funny.

We return to the suburban chaos of Lee (Lee Mack) and Lucy (Sally Bretton) as they’re asked to cover for uptight ice-queen Anna (Abigail Cruttenden) as she allegedly attends 'secret’ Italian lessons.

Lee is immediately convinced Anna is up to no good and, having to lie to his best friend Toby (Hugh Dennis), is not-so-slowly spiraling into an anxious mess.

As ever when there’s a delicate situation that needs sensitive handling, Lee could approach it cautiously - or go full sleuth in a bid to personally crack the case.

Don’t Miss

Air Fryers: Are They Worth it? 8.00pm, Channel 4

Whether or not you have an air fryer, this is essential viewing.

Denise van Outen (above) presents an assessment of the device that has recently captured consumer interest, particularly since the hike in the price of energy.

Alongside an army of home testers, Denise reveals the secrets behind the biggest kitchen revolution since the microwave.

She explores the science and technology involved, tries out recipes and conducts taste tests to assess whether the reality matches the promises.

SSE Airtricity League Live, 7.35pm, RTÉ2

Streaming on RTÉ Player

It’s the ultimate Dublin derby as Bohemians host Shamrock Rovers (KO 7.45pm) at Dalymount Park.

Due to ongoing work at the old stadium, capacity at the Phibsboro venue is limited to around 4,500 - with just 450 tickets available for away fans. But the atmosphere will be as intense as ever.

Despite some recent defeats, the Hoops look to be in a strong position to win their fourth successive lead title, but Bohemians are one of several teams looking to push them all the way.

Regardless of form or league standing, this game can go either way. So far this season, Rovers have prevailed, recording a brace of 2-0 wins over their northside rivals.

The Wild Bunch, 9.35pm, TG4

Sam Peckinpah's Western - starring William Holden, Ernest Borgnine, Robert Ryan, Warren Oates, Strother Martin and Edmond O'Brien – famously opened the door to graphic violence in Hollywood.

It also explores the time when the Wild West was becoming history. Yet today the gun is still treated like a god in the USA.

As for the story, it's about a gang of ageing outlaws, bound by a private code of honour and friendship, who find themselves at odds with early 20th-century society, and come to realise their era has passed.

Hired to steal guns for a tyrannical Mexican general, they instead decide to turn against him.

New or Returning Shows

Arctic Monkeys at Glastonbury 2023, 10.30pm, BBC One

Following the cancellation of the Monkeys’ Dublin gig due to take place earlier this week, there’s a chance this mightn’t go ahead.

Fingers crossed Alex Turner’s "acute laryngitis" has cleared up – it's pretty obvious that the Marlay Park gig was sacrificed so their Glasto appearance went ahead as planned.

If all goes to plan, the Sheffield band will perform on the Pyramid stage, their third time headlining the festival and a decade on from their last appearance.

Following a huge sold-out world tour and armed with their recent seventh studio album The Car, they are likely to be one of the talking points of this year's event.

For further Glastonbury coverage, see BBC Two and Three. Look out for Sparks – they are brilliant.

Vigil, 10.00pm, Virgin Media One

This Suranne Jones-starring drama is well worth investigating if you missed it on BBC One a couple of years ago.

A crew member is found dead under suspicious circumstances aboard a British nuclear submarine.

But the vessel is unable to return to port due to its status as part of the UK's nuclear deterrent, so a police inspector is sent on board to investigate.

Despite an initial diagnosis of accidental overdose, she suspects foul play, but finds the crew closing ranks against her.

New to Stream

I’m a Virgo, Prime Video

As a fan of Boots Riley’s 2018 film Sorry to Bother You, I’m looking forward to seeing this equally eccentric series created and directed by Reilly.

Jharrel Jerome stars as Cootie, a 13-foot-tall, 19-year-old black man raised by his Aunt Lafrancine and Uncle Martisse in Oakland, California.

He is shielded from the outside world until he is accidentally discovered by a group of teenage political activists.

Don’t Worry Darling, Sky Cinema Premiere & NOW

Florence Pugh and Harry Styles play Alice and Jack, who are lucky to be living in the idealized community of Victory, the experimental company town housing the men who work for the top-secret Victory Project and their families.

The 1950s’ societal optimism espoused by their CEO, Frank - equal parts corporate visionary and motivational life coach - anchors every aspect of daily life in the tight-knit desert utopia.

While the husbands spend every day inside the Victory Project Headquarters, working on the "development of progressive materials," their wives - including Frank's elegant partner, Shelley - get to spend their time enjoying the beauty, luxury and debauchery of their community.

Life is perfect, with every resident's needs met by the company. All they ask in return is discretion and unquestioning commitment to the Victory cause.

But when cracks in her idyllic life begin to appear, Alice can't help questioning exactly what they're doing in Victory, and why.

The Perfect Find, Netflix

After a high-profile firing, Jenna’s (Gabrielle Union) fashion career comeback hits a snag when she falls for a charming, much younger coworker (Keith Powers) - who happens to be her boss’s son.

As sparks fly, Jenna must decide if she’ll risk it all on a secret romance.

Based on the book by Tia Williams, The Perfect Find also stars Aisha Hinds, DB Woodside, Gina Torres and La La Anthony.

Ending Today

Poker Face, 9.00pm, Sky Max

This show has been a good laugh, even though Natasha Lyonne seems to be playing an increasingly smaller part in successive episodes.

In tonight’s double bill to wrap season one, her character Charlie finds herself stranded in a motel during a blizzard, where she must decipher the deadly tension between her questionable companions to survive the night.

Then in the season finale, Charlie faces her greatest challenge yet when she gets caught in the crossfire of a deadly power play that puts her in the sights of two ruthless crime syndicates and the FBI.
