The BBC has announced that it has acquired the RTÉ thriller series Clean Sweep, which will be coming to BBC Four and BBC iPlayer later this year.
The Charlene McKenna and Barry Ward-starring series recently aired on RTÉ One and is available on the RTÉ Player.
It tells the story of Shelly (McKenna), a mother who has a "murderous past" and whose husband, Jason (Ward), is a detective garda.
Sue Deeks, Head of BBC Programme Acquisition, said: "Clean Sweep is a gripping psychological thriller – BBC viewers will be hooked by Shelly, and how she copes with all of the repercussions of her secret life."
Inspired by true events, Clean Sweep is created by Gary Tieche (Preacher, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Medium) alongside Francesca Harris (Blue Lights, North Sea Connection).
The series is co-produced by Ireland's ShinAwiL (Dancing with the Stars Ireland, Miss Scarlet and the Duke) and Canada's Incendo (Be Mine Valentine, Terror Train), in association with Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland and the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland.
