Tell us Three things about yourself . . .
Well, I hail from a city called Sagamu in Nigeria, and I happen to be one of six children. Now, on to my passion for football. I'm an avid Arsenal fan. It's quite disheartening that we couldn't clinch the Premier League title this season, but we definitely gave Man City a run for their money! When it comes to music, I can boast a versatile skill set with a few different instruments under my belt. However, I feel most at home behind the drums. There's just something about the rhythm and beat that resonates with me on a profound level.
How would you describe your music?
If I had to sum up my music in just two words, they would be "positive" and "uplifting." Over the years, I've developed a deeply optimistic outlook, choosing to focus on the good side of people and the brighter aspects of life. Naturally, that energy permeates my music.
Who are your musical aspirations?
I draw inspiration from some incredible musicians. Lagbaja, one of the godfathers of Afrobeat, can be likened to the modern-day Marshmello from America, always wearing a mask. Fela Kuti's music was all over the place, and my parents frequently played the likes of Ebenezer Obey and King Sunny Ade at home. 2face's iconic track African Queen left a lasting impact, and I can't forget Don Jazzy, who has nurtured talents such as D'banj, Wande Coal Rema, Ladipoe, and Ayra Starr.
What was the first gig you went to?
Ah, I remember it vividly! My first gig was seeing Chris Brown on his Fame album tour. The experience was absolutely mind-blowing. That guy is a true force to be reckoned with!
What was the first album you ever bought?
Believe it or not, the first album I purchased was Usher's Confessions. Funny enough, I bought it as a gift for my girlfriend at the time, but it ended up resonating with me personally as well. Haha
What's your favourite song right now?
Currently, my favourite song is Holiday by Rema. The artist behind the catchy lyrics "Baby calm down calm down, girl, this your body dey put ti my heart for lockdown, oh lockdown. Girl, you sweet like Fanta Fanta."
What I your favourite lyric of all time?
Honestly, there are far too many great lyrics to choose from, so I can't say I have a single favourite lyric.
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
That's a tough one! But if I had to pick, it would be Forever by Chris Brown. It holds a special place in my heart, as it arrived during a significant moment in my life, evoking a nostalgic feeling. Alternatively, Peru by Fireboy also strikes a chord with me.
Where can people find your music and get more information about you?
The best platforms to check me out on are YouTube and Spotify. And if you want to stay up to date with my latest updates and adventures, you can find me most active on Instagram and my website.
