Irish DJ Karl Mac and his cousin Jodie G have collaborated on their new single, Wish I Didn't Miss You. We asked Karl the BIG questions . . .
Tell us three things about yourself . . .
I’m a music producer and DJ from Dublin, I’m 32 years of age and I’m 16 years deep into the house music scene! I’m a father to one son, Roman. And I’m a lover of golf and good grub!
How would you describe your music?
My music is fun, and I like to connect to people of all ages. I draw lots of sounds from different genres and add them to my style so all my fans can relate to it in some way. I’ve been in the game a long time now and so I have everyone from 16 to 50-year-olds that like my music. I try and keep my sound relevant to everyone and keep them happy and smiling!
Who are your musical inspirations?
Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Eric Prydz, just to name a few! As I grew up on their music it has a special place in my heart.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
The first ever music event I went to was God’s Kitchen at the Point Depot in Dublin back in 2014/15. I saw Tiesto play and instantly knew that was the path I wanted to take in life. From that day on I’ve always been driven by music.
What was the first record you ever bought?
Freefall - Skydive was the first record I ever bought. To this day it’s still in my top five tracks of all time.
What’s your favourite song right now?
That’s a tough one to answer but going off what’s been doing damage in my sets lately, would have to be Eli Brown - Be The One. It’s a club anthem that goes off big time in the live sets, really loving the vibe he went with.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Johnny Shaker - Pearl River. An all-time dance classic.
