The trailer for the new Irish psychological thriller Lies We Tell has been released ahead of the film's world premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh next month.
Directed by Lisa Mulcahy, written by Elisabeth Gooch, and starring Agnes O'Casey - the great-granddaughter of playwright Seán O'Casey - Lies We Tell is billed as "a contained psychological thriller about a gaslit girl's break for freedom".
"Maud (Agnes O'Casey), an orphaned heiress living alone in an isolated manor, must fight her charming and dangerous Uncle (David Wilmot) for her inheritance - and her life," reads the synopsis.
The film, which also stars Holly Sturton and Chris Walley, will receive its world premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh on 15 July.
Backed by Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland, Lies We Tell will be released in cinemas on 13 October.
"I'm so excited that Lies We Tell will have its world premiere at this year's Fleadh in Galway, where audiences are always so invested and enthusiastic," said director Lisa Mulcahy.
"I loved every moment working on this film with our brilliant cast and crew, telling this gripping story."
