Co Meath's teenage magician Cillian O'Connor came third in the final of Britain's Got Talent on Sunday, with teenage dancer Lillianna Clifton from Liverpool in second and Norwegian comedian Viggo Venn the winner on the night.
Fourteen-year-old Cillian, who wowed the BGT audience and judges with his routines, made the ITV show's co-host Ant McPartlin disappear during his performance.
After the result was announced, Cillian said: "I feel brilliant because that's third place out of hundreds of thousands who have auditioned this year. That's a huge achievement for me."
Venn, who said at his first audition that he wanted to become a British comedian, scooped the £250,000 prize, as well as a spot on the bill at Britain's Royal Variety Performance.
He had the judges in fits of laughter when he forced show boss Simon Cowell to wear a matching high-vis jacket as rose petals were thrown over the pair.
Co-host Declan Donnelly asked Venn how he felt to have "captured the heart of the nation", to which he replied: "Not just the heart of Britain, but the heart of Simon."
Thirteen-year-old Lillianna Clifton, who delivered another sublime dance performance on Sunday night, said that she felt "amazing" to be a runner-up.
