Kim Cattrall is reported to be reprising her role as Samantha Jones in the second season of the Sex and the City sequel series And Just Like That... - but she will appear without her former co-stars in just one scene in the season finale.
The US entertainment trade publication Variety, via unnamed sources, says that Cattrall "shot her dialogue on March 22 in New York City, without seeing or speaking with the stars of the series, including Sarah Jessica Parker, or with And Just Like That showrunner Michael Patrick King".
"In the scene, Samantha, who in the show has moved to London, will have a phone conversation with Parker's Carrie Bradshaw," Variety continues.
Season one of the HBO Max show saw the two estranged characters in contact by text.
Cattrall announced in 2016 that she would not play the iconic Samantha again - and a public falling-out with Parker followed.
"But as the second season of And Just Like That was underway, shooting in New York this past winter, Casey Bloys, the chairman and CEO of HBO and Max content, approached Cattrall about putting her stilettos back on as Samantha, which led to her decision to say yes," Variety explains.
Season two of And Just Like That... will premiere in the US on 22 June and will be available on Sky Comedy and streaming service Now on this side of the Atlantic.
