Pick of the Day
Last King of the Cross, 9.00pm, Sky Max
Streaming on NOW
Double episode opening of this Australian drama starring Tim Roth.
Inspired by John Ibrahim's best-selling autobiography, Last King of The Cross is an operatic story of two brothers, Sam and John Ibrahim who organise the street but lose each other in their ascent to power.
This miniseries tracks John Ibrahim's rise from a poverty-stricken immigrant with no education, no money, and no prospects.
He goes on to become Australia's most infamous nightclub mogul, based in Sydney's Kings Cross - a mini-Atlantic City, barely half a mile long, but with every form of criminality on offer.
In the opening episode, wide-eyed teen John Ibrahim is eager to emulate his older brother Sam, a legendary enforcer in Kings Cross.
He follows his brother into the most exotic red-light district - a jungle with no laws, but rigid rules and hierarchy.
