Former One Direction star Liam Payne has said that he has been sober for over 100 days.
Payne was ringside at a boxing event when he revealed the achievement in an interview with iFL TV, an online boxing platform.
The interviewer told Payne he was looking well and asked how he was, with Payne responding, "Really good. I'm sober now over 100 days. I feel amazing, I feel really really good, and the support from the fans and everything has been really good, so I’m super happy".
The star has spoken previously about his severe struggles with alcohol and drug addiction, which left him feeling suicidal. He previously gave up alcohol for a year.
In this interview, Payne also confirmed that he’s currently making an album and hopes to tour with it.
The 29-year old British singer performed with The X Factor boyband One Direction from 2010 to 2015. Shortly after the band split up, he began dating Cheryl [Cole], the group’s X Factor mentor, but the pair split in 2021. They have one child, six-year-old son Bear.
Payne reportedly split from his latest girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, in recent weeks.
