Broadcaster Charlie Bird has told of his joy after meeting Bruce Springsteen at his Dublin concert on Friday night.
The journalist and campaigner and his wife Claire Mould were among the guests invited backstage at the RDS Arena before Springsteen and the E Street Band performed.
Bird had recently said that meeting 'The Boss' was on his wishlist as he battles motor neurone disease.
He shared a photo of the encounter on Twitter on Saturday, writing: "What a magical moment for me and my beautiful wife Claire.
What a magical moment for me and my beautiful wife Claire. Bruce was so kind and a fantastic human. I played my voice app and I really believe we connected. I told Bruce Land of Hope and dreams was on my bucket list, and he said he would play it for me. And God he did. I love him pic.twitter.com/kP9KInCUpX

As part of the encore, Springsteen dedicated the song to "my friend Charlie Bird", with the crowd cheering the dedication.
