Hollywood legend Tom Hanks will be in Dublin next month, with the actor and author set to be the star attraction at the Dalkey Book Festival.
The two-time Oscar winner will address the event on Bloomsday, 16 June, to talk about his debut novel The Making of Another Major Motion Picture Masterpiece.
He will also talk about his wider path from picture to page.
Organisers say ticketholders in attendance will each receive a copy of Hanks’ novel.
In addition to Hanks, it was also announced this morning that Bono and physicist Brian Cox have been added to the line-up.
The festival - which is now in its 14th year and includes some of the world’s foremost writers and sharpest thinkers - runs from 15-18 June.
Tickets for the new events with Hanks, Cox and Bono will go on sale this Wednesday from 10am, and are available from dalkeybookfestival.org.
Among the other names announced already to address the event are Dylan Moran, John Banville, Sebastian Barry, Liz Nugent, Deirdre O’Kane, Roddy Doyle and many more.
