U2's The Edge to talk dark matter with Brian Cox at the Dalkey Book Festival

U2 guitarist The Edge will discuss "particle physics, dark matter and guitar riffs" with physicist Brian Cox as part of the line-up for this year's Dalkey Book Festival.

Running from 15 to 18 June in the Dublin seaside village, the event includes talks and interviews on literature, history, politics, journalism, and comedy with Ruby Wax, Dylan Moran, Sebastian Barry, Richard Ford, Linda Yueh, Liz Nugent, Roddy Doyle, Mariella Frostrup, Joseph O'Connor, Deirdre O’Kane and many more.

Tickets go on sale this Wednesday 26 April at 10am here.

Paul Murray, Elaine Feeney, Jan Carson, John Banville, Audrey Magee, Donal Ryan, Merve Emre, John Connolly, Victoria Kennefick, Nicole Flattery, Sarah Gilmartin, Alice Ryan are also among the guests.

In politics and world affairs, Russian expert and exile Masha Gessen will be in conversation with Dylan Moran.

David Brooks of The New York Times and Jeff Goldberg, editor of The Atlantic will discuss the state of America and predict political and cultural trends

The festival will look at what can we learn from history with Peter Frankopan, Roy Foster, and Donal Fallon, as well as Naoise MacSweeney, author of The West.

In comedy, Moran performs the Irish premiere of his show We Got This, while Paul Howard’s Ross O’Carroll-Kelly returns home to discuss the great events shaping the world, such as the new LIDL proposed for Dalkey village.
