The BBC has announced that its Death in Paradise spin-off series Beyond Paradise will return for a second series and a Christmas special following the "huge success" of its debut season, which ended on BBC One on Friday night.
The BBC said: "Returning to brighten up living rooms with their heart-warming relationships and puzzling criminal capers are Kris Marshall as DI Humphrey Goodman, Sally Bretton as Martha Lloyd, Zahra Ahmadi as DS Esther Williams, Dylan Llewellyn as PC Kelby Hartford, Felicity Montagu as office support Margo Martins and Barbara Flynn as Anne Lloyd."
The Christmas special will air this festive season, and season two will follow in 2024.
Lindsay Salt, Director of BBC Drama, added: "I'm beyond excited to return to Shipton Abbott for both a Christmas special and second series of Beyond Paradise.
"The response from BBC viewers to series one has been a joy to see, and like its millions of fans I'm intrigued to find out what new mysteries lie in store for Humphrey, Martha and the team."
Beyond Paradise, which sees former Death in Paradise stars Marshall and Bretton reprising their roles as Humphrey and Martha, respectively, began on BBC One in February, with the broadcaster describing it as "one of the UK's most popular dramas of the year so far".
