KIN star Yasmin Seky has told RTÉ Entertainment that fans of the RTÉ One crime-drama should brace themselves for this Sunday night.

Sunday's nailbiting episode sees the just-paroled Bren, played by Francis Magee, return home, determined to rule the Kinsella roost.

"All I can say is buckle up!" said Seky. "You're really going to get a sense of the direction of the season now - anything goes."

He's coming home... Francis Magee as Bren

"We got a bit of an inkling of him in season one when we first see him in the prison," she said of Magee's unforgettable introduction as Bren. "But to actually see his character out in the world, interacting with our characters and our family... there's just a complete shift."

Seky's character, Nikita - the partner of Bren's nephew Eric (Sam Keeley) - is introduced to the veteran criminal at his homecoming party - and things feel off from the get-go.

"You start to feel the uneasy tension as the relationships form between every character [and Bren] separately," she continued.

When asked what it's like to act opposite someone who has such a terrifying onscreen presence as Magee, Seky laughed: "He's lovely! He's absolutely lovely! Like, wouldn't say boo! I had a couple of friends on set with me working as extras on some of the scenes in episode two and they all said the same thing - he's absolutely lovely. They watched the trailer and they can't believe it - 'I can't believe that's Francis!'"

As for what lies ahead for Nikita, Eric and co in the wake of Bren's return, Seky was giving little away.

"I can't say much. I was reading it and I was like, 'And he does what?! And he said what?! And they're doing what?!'" she teased.

"You get the scripts so close [to filming] - they work really hard on them, they're editing them. Then, you get them back [again] and something's omitted and then something else has been added in! Half the time, you're trying to play catch-up with the script!

"There's constant twists and turns coming up. I'm so nervous to see people's reactions, but I'm really excited to see how people react to it as well. I'm even here getting excited for Sunday now!"
