Green carpet rolled out for Oscar Wilde Awards in LA
Eve Hewson, Jessie Buckley and Kerry Condon were honoured at the 17th annual Oscar Wilde Awards, which were held at J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot production company in Santa Monica, California on Thursday night.
The annual bash, which is always held on the Thursday before the Academy Awards, celebrates Irish talent in film and television. Irish band The Coronas provided the entertainment for the star-studded crowd.
An Cailín Ciúin, the first Irish-language film ever nominated for an Academy Award for Best International Feature, was given a special recognition award at the event. Director Colm Bairéad and producer Cleona Ní Chrualaoí, as well as stars Carrie Crowley and Catherine Clinch, were on hand to accept the accolade.
Dublin native Richard Baneham, who's part of the team Oscar-nominated for the visual effects work on Avatar: The Way of Water, also attended the pre-Oscars party.
Last year, Kenneth Branagh's film Belfast figured prominently with Branagh and Jamie Dornan being honoured.
The 95th Academy Awards take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday night and will be broadcast on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player on Monday from 9:30pm.
