Mitchum stars as JP Harrah, the town's sheriff, who is too deep in the throes of alcoholism to help the family.
When Harrah's friend, noble elder gunfighter Cole Thorton (Wayne), learns of the predicament, he travels to El Dorado with his upstart friend, Mississippi (Caan), to help Harrah clean up in time for a shootout against Jason's men.
New or Returning Shows
Karen Pirie, 9.00pm, Virgin Media One
Here’s a very watchable crime drama based on the novels by Val McDermid, starring Lauren Lyle.
The 1996 murder of barmaid Rosie Duff in the university town of St Andrews has become the subject of a provocative true-crime podcast and DS Karen Pirie is unexpectedly chosen to head up the enquiry.
It becomes increasingly apparent that Rosie harboured a secret that could unlock the mysteries surrounding the case.
Manics Back to Blackwood, 10.00pm, BBC Four
Manic Street Preachers return to perform in their home town of Blackwood for the first time in more than 25 years.
The intimate gig at the Miners' Institute features versions of hits spanning three decades, behind-the-scenes footage and an interview with the band.
New to Stream
Daisy Jones & the Six, Prime Video
This new drama is based on the New York Times best-selling novel of the same name and follows the story of a fictional 1970s’ band, fronted by two feuding yet charismatic lead singers, Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne.
Drawn together by personal and artistic chemistry, their complicated musical partnership catapulted the band from obscurity to unbelievable fame.
And then, after a sold-out show at Chicago's Soldier Field, they suddenly called it quits.
Now, decades later, the band members finally agree to reveal the truth and this is the story of how an iconic band imploded at the height of its powers.
If you've ever wonder why punk happened, it's because of this type of music. I can only hope the script has a bit more life.
Elvis, Sky Cinema Premiere & NOW
Austin Butler, Tom Hanks and Olivia DeJonge star in the Baz Luhrmann-directed biopic that tells the story of Elvis Presley.
He started off dirt-poor but went on to become arguably the greatest star of the 20th Century, the man who put the hips and lips into rock ‘n’ roll.
The film - an enjoyable if rather shallow look at a musical legend - earned eight Oscar nominations, with Austin Butler deservedly getting a nod for Best Actor in a Leading Role with his portrayal of Presley.

Aged just 10 when Michael went missing, his brother, entrepreneur and broadcaster Spencer Matthews, always struggled to accept his death.

He heads to Nepal and recruits Nims Purja, the world 14 peaks record holder, to lead a team and search Everest's Death Zone to try to find Michael.
