Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, 7.30pm, Virgin Media One

It’s back! For a 19th run!

The dynamic duo return with this excellent Saturday evening entertainment show featuring surprises galore and competitions, with actor David Tennant in the studio as Guest Announcer.

Alison Hammond stars in a terrifying Undercover, while singer Tom Grennan appears in a mind-blowing End of the Show Show.

Plus, Stephen Mulhern returns for another Ant versus Dec challenge, Fleur East is out and about with a very special Gift on a Shift and Jordan North is on a mission somewhere in the UK.

Live Six Nations Rugby Union, 1.30pm, RTÉ2

It’s Italy v Ireland (KO 2.15pm) as the Six Nations continues. Jacqui Hurley presents all the action from both teams' third match of the championship, held at Rome’s splendid Stadio Olimpico.

Italy lost their opening two matches at home to France and away to England, but will have found positives in their performances.

But the odds are stacked against them when they face Andy Farrell's men, who have so far managed an away win against Wales in Cardiff, before ending the French's run of seven straight Six Nations triumphs with a victory in Dublin.

The coverage will feature analysis from Jamie Heaslip (above), Jerry Flannery and Stephen Ferris, and commentary by Hugh Cahill and Donal Lenihan.

A Hard Day's Night, 3.05pm, BBC Two

Here’s the film that defined Beatlemania.

The Beatles, along with their manager, roadie and Paul's grandfather ("He’s very clean"), embark on a train journey to London for a TV show, but find themselves dogged by all manner of problems, including the inevitable overexcited fans.

It’s the ultimate musical comedy, starring the Fab Four alongside Wilfrid Brambell, Victor Spinetti, Norman Rossington and Anna Quayle. Songs include Can't Buy Me Love, If I Fell and the title track, which begins with 'that' chord.

Legendary US film critic Roger Ebert described A Hard Day’s Night as "one of the great life-affirming landmarks of the movies". I couldn’t agree more.

Living Wild: How to Change Your Life, 8.00pm, Channel 4

Sophie Morgan heads to Ireland, to the wild island of Cape Clear, and the home of Ed who 40 years ago swapped a career as a teacher in the Midlands to follow his dream of looking after his favourite animal - goats.

On the Norfolk Broads, Nick has changed his life from inner-city London teaching assistant to canoe builder, while in Devon, Sophie meets Yvette.

She has changed her own life as well as the lives of countless girls and women by setting up a female inclusive surf school in the seaside village of Croyde.

Sophie also spends time with Antonio, who lives a nomadic lifestyle after deciding to escape the stresses of a life working and playing too hard in the city.

New or Returning Shows

Michael McIntyre's The Wheel, 7.00pm, BBC One

The comedian is back with his colossal spinning wheel, offering three contestants the chance to secure the final cash prize - but only one of them can play for the jackpot.

Helping them along the way are celebrity experts Stephen Mangan, Charlotte Church, Sam Quek, Nihal Arthanayake, Kate Humble, Rosie Ramsey and Keith Brymer Jones.

Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice, 9.00pm, BBC Two

Documentary about of one of the most versatile female singers of the 20th century, and one of the most successful recording artists of all time.

Unfortunately, she had to retire in 2011 due to Parkinson's disease.

The film tells Linda's story through her own words and music, as well as interviews with fellow musicians Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne and Aaron Neville.

Saturday Cinema

The Band Wagon, 12.30pm, BBC Two

Magnificent musical comedy, starring Fred Astaire, Jack Buchanan and Cyd Charisse. Songs and classic dance routines include That's Entertainment ,Girl Hunt and Dancing in the Dark.

A has-been Hollywood dancer and a pretentious producer form an uneasy alliance to stage a song-and-dance spectacular.

But the latter's bizarre ideas soon spiral out of control, while the former can’t stand the ballerina that’s cast opposite him.

Up in the Air, 10.15pm, TG4

Here’s a very enjoyable dramedy, starring George Clooney, Vera Farmiga, Anna Kendrick, Jason Bateman and Amy Morton.

A corporate downsizing expert loves his life, detached from everyday existence and striving to achieve a personal goal of 10 million accumulated air miles.

But his lifestyle comes under threat by an up-and-coming executive with a revolutionary approach that would almost certainly make his role obsolete.

The Taking of Pelham 123, 11.45pm, RTÉ2

Classic 1970s' thriller - vastly superior to the 2009 remake starring John Travolta - with a cast including Walter Matthau, Robert Shaw, Martin Balsam, Hector Elizondo, Earl Hindman and James Broderick.

A ruthless criminal and his gang hijack a crowded New York subway train and demand a $1million ransom, threatening to shoot a passenger every minute after the deadline expires.

As the deadline looms, a transit police detective struggles to cut through City Hall red tape and negotiate the safe release of the innocent people on board.

Family Flick

The Croods, 6.30pm, RTÉ One

Animated comedy, with the voices of Nicolas Cage and Ryan Reynolds.

Prehistoric family the Croods find themselves with nowhere to live when their cave is destroyed.

They embark on a dangerous trek through an unstable landscape overrun with all manner of dangerous predators in search of a new home, but their domestic squabbles prove as much of an obstacle as the wildlife.
