Irish duo join cast of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

Rosaleen Linehan and Patrick Bergin will be joining the cast of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel for its upcomg run at Bord Gáis Energy Theatre.

They join the company in the roles of Norman and Muriel alongside a stellar cast that includes TV and theatre veteran Paul Nicholas (Jesus Christ Superstar, Just Good Friends, Eastenders) as Douglas.

There's also Belinda Lang (2point4 Children) as Madge, and Tessa Peake-Jones (Raquel in Only Fools and Horses, Sylvia Chapman in Grantchrester) as Evelyn.

Patrick Bergin

Dubliner Rosaleen Linehan has appeared in many comedy revues written by her husband Fergus and appeared on stage in the likes of Blithe Spirit, The House of Bernarda Alba and Twelfth Night.

She was nominated for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her role as Kate in Brian Friel's Dancing at Lughnasa at the 1992 Tony Awards.

Her film parts include Mrs Canning in The Butcher Boy and Peggy Owens in About Adam.

Patrick Bergin has appeared in over eighty film and TV movies and is best known internationally for playing the menacing husband of Julia Roberts' character in Sleeping with the Enemy and for his role as Irish terrorist Kevin O'Donnell in the film adaption of Patriot Games.

His recent TV credits include The South Westerlies as series regular Big Mike, Frank McGill in Wild Bill, Earl Kennedy in No Offence, and Jim Walsh in season four of Red Rock.
