Tell us three things about yourself . . .

I started playing the violin when I was six. I was fascinated by... Mozart! My artist name refers to The Simpsons - the show is set in Springfield. I was a big fan! I'm fascinated by the 80s and the new wave culture. My uncle introduced me to lots of bands of that era when I was a teenager (U2, Depeche Mode, Styx, The Cure, Journey, The Cars, The Police etc). I believe the 80's are the golden years for music but not only. I love the movies, the way of living of that period.

How would you describe your music?

My goal is to write songs that could have been written in the 80s, with sounds reminiscent of the 80s, with a modern touch as well. Because that specific sound makes me happy. And the sole purpose behind music is to make people smile, get out of their troubles for a moment. I would say that my music sounds "Modern 80's". I can write energetic tracks (Poplife!), dark and sad pieces (The End of Life) but also some soothing ballads (American Soldier) or festive songs (Feel loved).

Who are your musical inspirations?

My musical heroes are Bono, Martin Gore, and Brandon Flowers. I'm always fascinated by artists that create their own music and style. But most of all- I'm a big fan of the producers that are behind the albums that I love: Stuart Price, Mutt Lange, Trevor Horn, Brian Eno are pure geniuses.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

I believe that it was Texas... Well, Sharleen!!

What was the first record you ever bought?

I wanted to buy the single Every Breath You Take by The Police and asked my Mum to get it. But the single wasn't available anymore (for many years). She bought me the compilation, Every Breath You Take: The Singles. I still enjoy it today!

What's your favourite song right now?

Get You Down by Sam Fender. Brilliant!

Favourite lyric of all time?

I would pick Telegraph Road by Dire Straits. It's a mythic song!

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I Want to Know What Love Is by Foreigner. I love this song!
