It’s that time of the year again as Ryan Tubridy hosts a St Valentine’s special, with the big day itself coming next Tuesday.

Once more, Ryan plays Cupid as he welcomes 200 singletons from all over Ireland to The Late Late Show for a love-filled evening of fun as they embark on a quest of finding their special someone.

Guests include Love Island star Maura Higgins (below), who will chat about becoming an overnight success, who she turns to for advice and bumping into Fifty Shades star Jamie Dornan.

She will also be on hand to give our audience members some all-important advice, regarding matters of the heart.

Double act Mullingar comedian Alison Spittle and Queen of the Jungle Kerry Katona will also join Ryan to chat about their unlikely friendship and doling out advice on everything from bad dads to dating misadventures on their BBC podcast Wheel of Misfortune.

The show will also see 5ive making an appearance. We can’t say too much, only that the band will be sure to keep our audience moving both at home and in-studio.

With plenty of surprises in store, prepare for a night that celebrates the power of love and all things Valentine's.

Sam Smith Live at the Royal Albert Hall, midnight, BBC One

A special show filmed in October 2022 at the iconic London venue, which finds Sam Smith (below) accompanied by a conducted orchestra of 12 strings, a four-piece band, three backing singers and four dancers.

Sam performs chart-topping smashes Stay with Me, Dancing with a Stranger and I'm Not the Only One, as well as new material from fourth studio album Gloria.

Plus, there’s an appearance by pop diva Kim Petras, Sam's co-singer on the hit single Unholy.

New to Stream

Your Place or Mine, Netflix

Here's the first offering from Resse Witherspoon since she signed a deal with Netflix. And – quelle surprise - it’s a romcom.

When best friends and total opposites Debbie (Witherspoon) and Peter (Ashton Kutcher) swap homes for a week, they get a peek into each other's lives that could open the door to love.

Walter Presents: Sacha, All4

Here’s an interesting one, a Swiss drama.

Anne Dupraz is a well-respected prosecutor in Geneva – until she ends up in custody for shooting a man who’s now clinging on to life.

She admits she pulled the trigger but is either unwilling unable to explain the reason behind her act.

But her interrogation will allow Anne to finally free herself from her past.

Clarkson’s Farm, Prime Video

Here’s another run of the Jeremy Clarkson show, based on his endeavours trying to run a 1,000-acre Cotswolds farm.

The former Top Gear presenter has lost many of his fans in recent years, but if you’re still up for a grump or twelve, he’s your man.

Love to Hate You, Netflix

For an attorney who despises losing to men and an A-list actor who distrusts women, love means nothing - until they're forced to date each other.

The Graham Norton Show, 10.40pm, BBC One

Mexican star Salma Hayek Pinault (below) promotes new comedy-drama Magic Mike's Last Dance and Oscar-winner Julianne Moore discusses her part in psychological thriller Sharper.

Dancer Johannes Radebe talks about his new touring show, and there are appearances from singer-songwriters Shania Twain and Lizzo. Plus, music by Tom Grennan.

Kate Bush Night, BBC Four

The night kicks off with Kate Bush at the BBC at 9.00pm, a compilation of the singer's performances at the BBC's studios between 1978 and 1994.

Bush appeared on a variety of programmes, including Top of the Pops, Wogan, Ask Aspel, Saturday Night at the Mill and the Leo Sayer Show.

Featuring the hits Wuthering Heights, Babooshka, Running Up That Hill and Hounds of Love, as well as some intriguing and lesser-known material.

That’s followed at 10pm by The Kate Bush Story: Running Up That Hill.

It explores her career and music from the 1978 debut single Wuthering Heights to her 2011 album 50 Words for Snow with testimony from collaborators, fellow artists inspired by her work and fans.

Featuring David Gilmour, the guitarist who discovered Bush, as well as Peter Gabriel, Elton John, Stephen Fry, Outkast's Big Boi and Steve Coogan.

Finally, at 11pm there’s Kate Bush at the BBC 1979, a Christmas special where she performs songs including Them Heavy People, Madrigal, December, Wedding List, Egypt, Ran Tan Waltz, and Man with the Child in His Eyes.

Peter Gabriel joins Kate for a rendition of Another Day and sings Here Comes the Flood.

The Last Leg, 10.00pm, Channel 4

Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker are joined by Bray brainbox Dara Ó Briain (below) and Vick Hope for a comic review of the significant moments of the past seven days.

As usual, the hashtag #isitok paves the way for the gang to round up, examine and explain the leading and most entertaining news stories of the week.

Death in Paradise, 9.00pm, BBC One

It’s a wonder there’s anyone left alive on the island given the murder rate on this show.

This week, an anonymous letter claims a murder is about to be committed. Not long after, Neville and Naomi are called to the harbour when a body is pulled from the ocean.

The victim suffered blunt trauma and it is soon suggested that his disgruntled wife may be a person of interest.

Marlon returns after taking a short holiday following his disappointing exam results.
