From the slums of Dublin to London’s West End and Broadway, Brendan Behan is one of Ireland’s most famous Dubliners
Often referred to as more of a player than a playwright, Behan was a one man show in himself!
On the centenary of his birth, Anne Cassin leads a Nationwide look back on the life and work of Brendan Behan, revisiting many locations of Behan’s city.
They include Russell Street in the north inner city where he grew up, Mountjoy prison, the house in Anglesea Road, Dublin 4 which he bought with his wife Beatrice and his grave at Glasnevin Cemetery.
The programme also features his daughter Blanaid Behan (above left, with Anne Cassin); writer and director, Peter Sheridan; historian, Donal Fallon and academic, Deirdre McMahon as well as archives of the man himself.

Neven's Greenway Food Trails, 8.30pm, RTÉ One

In the season finale, Neven cycles the Waterford Greenway, starting his journey in Dungarvan at the western end of the 46km walking and cycling track, and heading to Waterford City.
The Greenway follows the route of what was originally the Waterford to Mallow Railway Line with Waterford’s Copper Coast, the Comeragh Mountains and the River Suir all part of the spectacular backdrop.
Before heading out on the Greenway, Neven calls in at the Dún Artisan Bakery for breakfast where he meets Baker and Co-Founder Fergal Walsh.
The Dún Artisan Bakery specialises in sour dough products, including breads and pastries such as croissants, pain au chocolat, pastéis de nata, and cinnamon buns.

It's a high-risk operation - but if the tumours are not removed they could eventually cause paralysis.
Also going under the knife is a 19-year-old who has a cancerous mass growing off the largest vein in his body.
The Magic of Mushrooms, 9.00pm, BBC Four
Richard Fortey examines the world of mushrooms in a specially built laboratory with the help of mycologist Patrick Hickey.
Together, they reveal the ability of fungi to break down waste and sustain new plant life, keeping the planet alive.
Richard also travels across Britain and further afield to reveal their mysterious life cycles and how they have the potential to open new frontiers in science, medicine and technology
