Marie Cassidy is the second celebrity to be voted off Dancing with the Stars after she and her professional partner Stephen Vincent danced a Foxtrot, scoring 15 points from the judges, which didn't prove enough to continue their dancing journey.

Afterwards, the former pathologist said: "I had the best partner and I’m just sorry he has to go with me!"

Earlier, it was lights, camera, action as the celebrities took to the dance floor for Movie Week, treating viewers to a variety of dance styles performed to songs from movie soundtracks.

The opening act were Marie Cassidy and Stephen, who performed a fun Foxtrot to Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmatians.

Judge Loraine said: "Elegant, radiant, beautiful! The Foxtrot came up a little short, but it was beautiful."

Brian added: "There was a section where you really lost control - but you did absolutely capture the elegance of a Foxtrot."

Next to put on a show was singer Brooke Scullion with her partner Robert Rowinski, dancing a passionate Paso Doble to The Greatest Show from the film The Greatest Showman.

"What I see is the greatest showman, matched with the great showgirl, on the great show in Ireland!" said Lorraine.

Arthur said: "You are the leading lady! You were so flawless, and you made it look so effortless. I loved it."

Brooke and Robert scored 24 from the judges.

Former Ireland rugby player Shane Byrne and his partner Karen Byrne entertained with a Tango to Wreck-It, Wreck-It Ralph from the film Wreck-It Ralph.

Brian: "You put a lot of quality Tango movements in there. It maybe just needed a bit more sharpness, but overall not a bad go at a Tango."

Arthur: "You always deliver the entertainment factor. Yes, there were things missing here and there, but because it was so entertaining, I don't care!"

Shane and Karen scored 18 from the judges.

Next up, footballer Stephanie Roche took to the floor with Ervinas Merfeldas, dancing a sassy Salsa with impressive lifts to Rhythm of the Night from Moulin Rouge.

Loraine: "You had two lifts, and a dip, and a dip inside the lift - there were hits and some misses, but I commend you tonight!"

Arthur: "Yes, you got lost in places, but you kept the courage and the energy going. In week 1 you were shy and quiet – but look at you now! Keep pushing!"

Stephanie and Ervinas scored 17 from the judges.

Comedian Kevin McGahern then danced a graceful American Smooth with his partner Laura Nolan to Pure Imagination from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

Loraine: "It was very stylish. I just wanted a bit more sparkle, more volume."

Brian: "You’re a little bit of an enigma because you’re actually good at the difficult things. The things we don’t normally expect the celebs to get good at, you’re already pretty good at. You’re going in the right direction – but enjoy it more."

Kevin and Laura scored 21 from the judges.

Part three of the show kicked off with a spellbinding Jive by Panti Bliss and her dance partner Denys Samson to the soundtrack of The Witches Are Back from Hocus Pocus 2. They were joined for the routine by Shirley Temple Bar and Veda.

Arthur: "What I love about you is you let the dancing do the talking. Jive is very fast and you can’t miss a beat – yes there was one or two, but it was bewitching!"

Brian: "The kick sections were really, really good. Overall, despite the little wobble, I think you’re starting to put a bit of a spell on me!"

Panti and Denys scored 22 from the judges.

Television presenter and entrepreneur Suzanne Jackson and her partner Michael Danilczuk hoped to recover from a difficult performance last week as they danced a Paso Doble to America from West Side Story.

Loraine: "I am delighted to see you back - it takes guts. Well done you. What I want you to do now is build on that confidence."

Arthur: "You had a point to prove and you absolutely smashed it! That was fiery and fierce – bravo!"

Suzanne and Michael scored 23 from the judges.

2FM Breakfast host Carl Mullan and his partner Emily Barker took to the floor tonight with an American Smooth to If I Didn’t Have You from the film Monsters Inc.

Arthur: "I can tell you work so, so hard. You’re also having so much fun and that’s what dancing is all about!"

Brian: "Every week you’re consistent - you’re brilliant fun, but we need to try and get the legs to work a bit better to open the doors to the latter stages of the competition."

Carl and Emily scored 20 from the judges.

The final part of the show opened with a Charleston by former Dublin footballer Paul Brogan and his partner Salome Chachua to A Star Is Born from the film Hercules. Their performance had two of the judges on their feet.

Loraine: "This was just joyous - such a happy number, entertaining, and the lifts were incredible."

Brian: "It had all the ingredients to be godawful, but it was anything but - I’d say it was even Herculean! It was fantastic – well done."

Paul and Salome scored 27 from the judges - the highest score of the competition so far.

The final couple to perform were actor and singer Damian McGinty and his partner Kylee Vincent, who rocked a Jive to Burning Love from the movie Elvis.

Loraine: "The temperature has just risen in the building! That was Jive, Jive, and Jive. It was tremendous."

Arthur: "Your charisma was flawless and you were so fast that I was tired watching you. That was burning hot!"

Damian and Kylee scored 25 from the judges.

For the grand finale, the professional dancers performed a musical showstopper to the soundtrack of City of Stars/Another Day of Sun from the movie La La Land.
