Irish star the first guest revealed for Friday's Late Late Show

An Irish actor with a big month ahead is the first guest announced for this Friday's Late Late Show on RTÉ One and the RTÉ Player.

Tipperary's Daryl McCormack, who has just been nominated for two British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs), will be joining Ryan Tubridy to discuss his big-screen breakthrough opposite Emma Thompson in Good Luck to You, Leo Grande and his roles in the hit TV shows Bad Sisters and Peaky Blinders.

The Nenagh man is among the Best Actor nominees at next month's BAFTAs for his performance in Good Luck to You, Leo Grande.

He has also been shortlisted for the EE Rising Star Award at the BAFTAs.

McCormack is flying the flag alongside a number of Irish stars at the BAFTAs.

The winners will be announced in London on Sunday 19 February.
