Liam Neeson has reunited with Michael Collins and Breakfast on Pluto director Neil Jordan for Marlowe, a detective thriller based on Benjamin Black/John Banville's Philip Marlowe book The Black-Eyed Blonde.
With the trailer just released, the synopsis reads: "Marlowe, a gripping noir crime thriller set in late 1930s Los Angeles, centres around a street-wise, down-on-his-luck detective; Philip Marlowe, played by Liam Neeson, who is hired to find the ex-lover of a glamorous heiress (Diane Kruger), daughter of a well-known movie star (Jessica Lange).
"The disappearance unearths a web of lies, and soon Marlowe is involved in a dangerous, deadly investigation where everyone involved has something to hide."
The book has been adapted for the screen by William Monahan, an Oscar winner for his work on The Departed. The cast also includes Neeson's fellow Irish actor Colm Meaney.

Marlowe has been developed for the screen with the help of Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland. It is released in the US next month. An Irish release date has yet to be announced.
In portraying Philip Marlowe, Neeson joins an honour roll that includes Humphrey Bogart, James Caan, James Garner, Danny Glover and Robert Mitchum.
