Irish stars honoured by US critics

Actors Kerry Condon, Colin Farrell, Barry Keoghan, and Paul Mescal, and writer-director Martin McDonagh have been honoured at the National Society of Film Critics' annual awards in the US.

Condon was named Best Supporting Actress for her performance in McDonagh's The Banshees of Inisherin.

Farrell was named Best Actor for his performances in After Yang and The Banshees of Inisherin.

Mescal was a runner-up in the Best Actor category for his performance in Aftersun.

Keoghan was a runner-up in the Best Supporting Actor category for his performance in The Banshees of Inisherin.

McDonagh was a runner-up in the Best Screenplay category for The Banshees of Inisherin.

Condon, Farrell, Keoghan, and McDonagh are among the strong Irish contingent of nominees at Tuesday night's Golden Globe Awards in California. The awards will be shown on RTÉ2 on Wednesday night.
