Christmas in Ireland with Imelda May and Friends, 9.30pm, Sky Arts

Streaming on NOW

Filmed at the iconic Pepper Canister Church in the heart of Georgian Dublin, Christmas In Ireland with Imelda May and Friends features music and literary performances, from well-known and up-and-coming artists.

Produced to celebrate the now legendary Grafton Street Christmas Eve Busk and shot in front of a live audience from the Simon Community, the show will feature festive favourites such as The Wexford Carol and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.

Imelda May will be joined onstage by musicians such as Glen Hansard, Jack Lukeman, Loah, Hawke The Band and more.

Alongside these musical performances, Sharon Corr recites Patrick Kavanagh's A Christmas Childhood while Dubliners legend John Sheahan performs a self-penned poem that captures the magic of Christmas at home.

Viewers will also be treated to a very special rendition of the iconic Marino Waltz that sees John joined onstage by his daughter Ceoladh, Séamus and Caoimhe Uí Fhlatharta and Cormac de Barra.

Christmas Carole, 8.00pm, Sky Max

Streaming on NOW

BAFTA Award-winning Suranne Jones stars in this seasonal new Sky Original, which obviously doffs a creative cap to the creator of the modern Christmas, Charles Dickens.

Carole Mackay (Jones) is an unashamedly outspoken and wealthy entrepreneur. Her online business selling all things festive has earned her a fortune, as well as the nickname Christmas Carole.

But her success hasn’t made her a better human being. In fact, it’s made her worse. The truth is that Carole is a monumentally mean person.

Positively Scrooge-like, you might say. And, just like old Ebeneezer, she doesn’t love Christmas at all.

But this Christmas Eve, Carole’s past, present and future are about to collide. Will some rather familiar Christmas spirits help her discover the true spirit of Christmas?
