Ireland West Airport welcomed six-year-old Toy Show star and aviation fan Aron Gibbons for a VIP tour earlier this week.

Aron appeared on The Late Late Toy Show last month and talked about his love for airplanes and airports.

He is a regular plane spotter at his local airport, Ireland West Airport, and after seeing his appearance on the Toy Show, the airport made his dream come and invited him for a guided tour of the facility in County Mayo.

Aron got to see our brand-new fire engine and the airport's fleet of electric vehicles and met airport staff.

One of the highlights of his tour was visiting the Air Traffic Control Tower to watch the arrival of the Aer Lingus flight.

He also met the pilots of the Aer Lingus Gatwick flight who gave him a guided tour of the cockpit explaining to him how aircraft operate, and the procedures involved in landing and taking off at Ireland West Airport.

At the end of the day he said, "I'll see ye again in a few years when I'm working here."
