Dublin singer and former X Factor hopeful Megan Burke has released her new single, For Hours. We asked her the BIG questions . . .

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

I have a vocal coaching business, and I teach hundreds of students a week. I have an eight-year-old Jack Russell cross that I adopted in Sydney, who is my soulmate. I once had a meeting with the Ellen show's producers about potentially going on the show (it never happened. LOL)

How would you describe your music?

If an old school soul song had a baby with a modern-day pop song on the radio.

Who are your musical inspirations?

I actually have so many, and for so many different reasons, Amy Winehouse, her lyrical content is so special! Aretha Franklin, because she is Aretha Franklin, need I say more? Brittany Howard from Alabama Shakes has influenced me a lot in recent years. Alicia Keys, her vocals are so clear and her songwriting is incredible.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

Bewitched in The Point! I was about six and was obsessed!!

What was the first record you ever bought/downloaded?

Oh, it was My Love Don’t Cost A Thing by J Lo on tape, my brother gave me cash from his communion money and I spent what felt like hours (probably 10 mins ) in my local music shop trying to decide whether I wanted her or Nelly.

What’s your favourite song right now?

Anything from Megan Thee Stallion but specifically Plan B - be aware though, don’t play it in the car on the school run 😂

Favourite lyric of all time?

"'Cause we all look the same in the dark" - McFly - One For The Radio.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life what would it be?

Would it be a total diva thing to say my first single, Where Did You Find Love? Honestly, I listen to it at least three times a week, every week been released LOL. If that’s too egotistical, I’d say Bring It On Home To Me by Sam Cooke.

Where can people find your music/more information?

All the usual social media, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram YouTube, I’m everywhere LOL.
