The much-loved Disney musical The Lion King is returning to Dublin's Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in 2023.
The six-week run will be from Thursday September 28 to Saturday November 11. Tickets will go on sale at 9am on Friday December 9 through Ticketmaster.
The show makes a triumphant return, having already played a season as part of the current UK and Ireland tour in December 2021. Unfortunately, covid restrictions at the time drastically reduced audience numbers.
So this is a great opportunity for anyone who missed out last time around.

The story of The Lion King roars into life using spectacular masks, puppets, and costumes to tell the story of Simba's epic adventures, as he struggles with the responsibilities of adulthood and becoming king.
General Manager of Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, Stephen Faloon said: "As Disney’s The Lion King celebrates a momentous milestone of 25 years on Broadway, we are honoured to welcome back this phenomenal production to Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in 2023.

"We cannot wait for audiences to experience this spectacular production in its full glory. It is a production that should be enjoyed by everyone at least once in their life – Be Prepared for a mammoth of a show!"
Having played in more than 100 cities in 20 countries on every continent except Antarctica, The Lion King’s worldwide gross exceeds that of any film, Broadway show or other entertainment title in box office history.
The landmark musical has now been seen by over 110 million people worldwide.
