Cork-based artist, vocalist, and freelance producer Blakkheart has teamed up with Dublin producer Aran Sheehy to collaborate on new single, Dreamscape From The 2000s. We asked Blakkheart the BIG questions . . .

As its title suggests, the track is a modern-day musical tribute to Blakkheart and Aran's formative years, with influences from the early millennium’s musical spectrum, from Massive Attack to Sugababes.

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

I love horror - my favourite writers are Stephen King, Grady Hendrix, and R.L Stine (I used to get 3 in 1 Goosebumps volumes from the second-hand section in Vibes and Scribes when I was younger). I think the movie Arrival is the best first contact movie in existence and changed how I view life itself (also the sound design and music in this movie are both incredible). I love plants and have a plant emporium in my home studio.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

Bob Dylan with my parents when I was a child. It was in a huge arena, there were three guys on stage who were all dressed fairly similarly and I couldn't really see; and it turned out that I was looking at the wrong guy for the entire concert. Murder on the Dancefloor by Sophie Ellis Bextor.
