Marty Morrissey is in great form when he joins Anne Robinson and Carl Mullan on this Saturday night's Angela Scanlon's Ask Me Anything.

The legendary GAA broadcaster recalls previous career opportunities such as bus driver, a priest and how he almost became a doctor, before he got the commentator's call and landed a job at RTÉ.

He tells Angela: "The problem was initially they thought my voice was too thin," to which she replies: "What does that mean?"

Sharp as as tack, Marty responds with, "Well I don't really know. As Anne will tell you, I have a very sexy voice - isn't that right?"

Anne Robinson rises to the bait and says: "I think it goes with the whole of your sexiness."

A delighted Marty then adds: "Thank you Anne - we are on a winner here!"

Expanding the theme, Angela then asks Marty about "the babe magnet thing". Naturally enough, Marty's happy to both oblige and indulge.

"Well let me tell you," he says. "This was a rumour started by me and I am still propagating it everywhere I go."

He then regales everyone with an anecdote about girls climbing onto the roof of an Outside Broadcast van in Clones, county Monaghan.

They began banging on the door and rocking the van, chanting 'We want Marty!'

Marty then describes the girls as "Women with great taste - fair play to them!"
